The EU EN71-3 standard is considered the "gold standard" in the field of children's product safety worldwide. The EU EN71-3:2019+A2:2024 standard, which Landy's pool liner was tested against, is the latest version of this series of standards. This standard is a benchmark regulation in the field of children's product safety globally, setting strict limits on the migration of harmful elements in materials that children under 14 years old may come into contact with (Category 3 materials). Compared to the old version, it adds requirements for aluminum element migration and optimizes testing methods and judgment rules, placing higher demands on product safety levels. The testing process used precise analytical techniques such as ICP-OES, IC-UV, and LC-ICP-MS to comprehensively detect the migration levels of 19 core harmful elements, including lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, mercury, and organotin.
The test results show that all tested items of the Landy pool liner met the "not detected (ND)" standard. The limits for soluble lead were 23 mg/kg, soluble cadmium 17 mg/kg, and soluble hexavalent chromium only 0.053 mg/kg, while the content of these elements in the sample was below the method detection limit (MDL), fully meeting the EU's stringent safety requirements for materials that children come into contact with. This means that during product use, even if children come into contact with the product through their skin, there is no risk of ingesting harmful elements, making it perfectly suitable for sensitive environments such as infant swimming pools and children's wading pools.
